WSET Diploma - Spirits Tasting (2nd trial - part 1)

接著的另一晚，總共寫了13支tasting notes，好艱苦，但唔做唔得。其實讀這一課真的有點痛苦，因為任何spirit都要試，包括你鐘意同唔鐘意的。




1. Alta selezione grappa bianca (左)

Appearance:

Clear and bright, water-white and colorless

Nose:

It's clean with medium intensity of Herbaceous (hay), solvent (vanish, paint), citrus fruit (lemon), nutty, almond flavors. It's unaged.

Palate:

Dry with smooth alcohol, medium body with a palate of Herbaceous (hay), solvent (vanish, paint) almond. vegetable (bell pepper). It's medium flavour intensity, simple and short finish.

Conclusion:

Acceptable quality as it gives only the simple structure and finish of basic Grappas, and will be a longer finish and less unfavorable vanish flavor if target for standard price range.  It's inexpensive.


2. Fundador (Brandy de Jerez) (右)

Appearance:

Clear, medium amber color with legs

Nose:

It's clean with medium intensity of honey, oak (ceder, toast), spice (cinnamon, clove and liquorice). It's ,atured.

Palate:

Dry with warming alcohol, medium body with a palate of sweetness (honey, toffee, caramel), oak (ceder, toast) and spice (cinnamon, clove). It's medium flavour intensity, simple and medium finish.

Conclusion:

Good quality as it provides relative balanced structure and complexity, a pure style of a straight Brandy de Jerez with reasonable finish. It's standard price n market.

3. Campari

Appearance:

Clear and bright, medium red color

Nose:

It's clean with medium intensity of renshen, floral, nutty, red cherry, wet leaf, spice (liquorice) flavors. It's unaged.

Palate:

Dry with smooth alcohol, medium body with a palate of hay, renshen, nutty, red cherry, wet leaf, spice (liquorice) and honey. It's medium flavour intensity, simple and medium finish.

Conclusion:

Acceptable quality as it gives only the simple structure of pure style of Aperitifs, and will be a less harsh of taste if target for standard price range.  It's inexpensive.
